Brian Rodgers
Dr. Brian Rodgers, he currently lives in Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand working at the University of Auckland. Prior to this, he lived in Brisbane, Australia and Glasgow, Scotland working within a variety of academic institutions as well as in private practice and consultancy. He is initially trained in the person-centred approach in 1999 at the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, and later worked alongside Dave Mearns, Mick Cooper, Robert Elliott and others as a trainer on the programme. In 2010 he completed his PhD supervised by John McLeod at the University of Abertay Dundee. In 2015 he returned to his native New Zealand working with Keith Tudor at Auckland University of Technology, and in 2020 moved to work at the University of Auckland. Since returning to New Zealand, he became especially interested in the significance of the cultural context within which he worked, and how this shapes and informs the approach. He joined WAPCEPC in 2000 and have attended a number of PCE conferences including Egmond aan Zee, Potsdam, Norwich, Antwerp, Vienna, Auckland, and Copenhagen. He has been a member of the Board since 2018, and was on the organising committee for PCE 2021 in Auckland.
